If a seller tells you it has never been abused, he didn’t need to say that, but it means it’s been used and abused. A certain survivor page(and C5 pages) has quickly taught me that mud tires, almost 200k miles, and an obvious repaint aren’t enough of a red flag for a certain generation.
Use your noggin, a pressure washer washes mud off really well. My never abused 3.0 90's Toyota for your time, that definitely is all original and has never crossed a river.
Edit: had a Carfax ran on the truck that sparked this, Reported Damage.

It’s the equivalent of people who say “never raced”, “driven by a gentle old lady to church on Sundays”, and people who when arrested say “these aren’t my pants”. All of them are liars.

At least whoever went through the effort of respraying mine the wrong color on some fenders at least put back the graphics.

My Miata is a show car. See, it says it right there in the for-sale ad!

There is the original frame coat underneath all of the dirt. I should clean it off and sell it as never abused.

has never crossed a river.
Are there rivers you can cross in Florida?

I had a friend a few years back that took his RX8 to the drag strip frequently (definitely the wrong venue for that car). He always claimed his car was “never raced” because he went on test and tune night.
One day, he took his never raced car to the dealership for some kind of warranty work, and the service manager/writer had his car, at the strip, as his computer wallpaper when he showed up. Might not want to tag a dealership with bad reviews online, then post your racing photos where said dealership can see them.

Technically yes, but it wasn’t there. It was when I lived in PA.

I’d honestly rather by a car that had been raced, because generally that means that it has been at least maintained.

My family clearly lives in the wrong part of the state. Other than the Ocala National Forest which I’m too chicken-shit to enter, I’ve not heard of /seen anything vaguely interesting to drive through in my Jeep.

There are some water crossings on Eglin AFB, and technically there are parts of Blackwater River that are shallow enough you could in theory drive across.

“never been abused”
Now I’m wondering if “abuse” has a legal definition (in this context)? The average buyer might be inclined to think of abuse as harsh on-or-off-road shenanigans that would cause premature wear, but one could argue that such driving would actually constitute proper “living its best life” use...

Well, never mind then, I guess. Wear parts are one thing, but if the vehicle was in a collision , then I’m pretty sure that’s one of the very first things that would definitely count as “abuse”.

He got smart with me about it, so I asked him about why the VIN said it had been crashed. He got mad, admitted he knew it was rolled and restored, but still thought it was a Survivor.

That still depends on the owner. That particular one was not well cared for.
